(Buffalo, NY)---Mike Share was selected as Buffalo City Football Club’s head coach today. The Holland native has enjoyed a productive playing career in Europe’s top leagues and the top spot at Buffalo City FC is his first foray behind the bench. “I am very happy to commit myself to Buffalo City Football Club,” Share said.
Share began his playing career in France plying his trade for AS Monaco before making stops in the English Premier League and Spain’s La Liga before coming stateside and joining the San Francisco Seals of the United Soccer League. The opportunity to be at the helm of BCFC was too enticing as Share again returned from Europe to lead the Buffalo squad.
“I personally feel that I bring something different to the table than other coaches because of my background,” Share said. “As well as knowing the game in the United States, I hope to combine my knowledge as a player. I hope to be able to show my philosophy in soccer. My team will be playing exciting but hard working soccer. I will take all the best aspects from the different countries and coaches I have played for.”
Share will also be at the forefront of developing partnerships for BCFC with European clubs. “There is a lot of talent in the U.S. We will provide a unique chance for players to fulfill their dreams of playing in Europe” through Buffalo City Football Club Share said.
BCFC will be offering the most elite coaching and training throughout all levels of youth and senior teams to provide players a chance to advance to the elite professional levels. Share noted “All I can see is a very bright future for this club. I cannot wait to start this challenge.”
